The Permanent Delegation of Germany to UNESCO organised a concert for peace on 7th November 2024 with young musicians at UNESCO headquarters. The event was hold on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, together with the Kronberg Academy, an international institution which trains and supports highly gifted young musicians from all over the world.

Ambassador Kerstin Pürschel, the Assistant Director-General for Education, Mrs Stefania Giannini and the founder of the Kronberg Academy, Mr Raimund Trenkler, remembered the peaceful revolution in 1989 in the former German Democratic Republic and the reconciling force of music that unites nations.

The well attended concert presented pieces of music including Debussy, Dvořák and Tschaikowski, and embraced the Romantic Period up to the modern age and proved in an impressive way how music can unite young people from different countries and cultures.
